SAFETY studio
Girls turning lived experience into action for safety.

What if girls led the way on safety?
Safety Studio puts girls at the centre of how safety is understood, discussed and shaped in their communities.
For 20+ years, Aangan has worked with girls, families and communities to spot harm before it escalates. Now, girls are taking the lead. They notice what is changing around them, make sense of emerging risks, create practical responses and get people to act.

WHAT IT IS
A girl-led space where everyday observations become practical safety knowledge for girls, their friends and their communities.
Girls spot emerging risks. Map where and when they happen. Create safety updates, maps, videos and guides. Talk to friends, families and trusted adults. Then take what they learn to the people who can help change things.

Safety Stories
Videos, reels, zines and WhatsApp guides that take girls’ insights beyond the Studio and into the community.

Safety Talks
Girls open up conversations with friends, mothers, teachers, community leaders and frontline workers. Something noticed becomes something acted on.

Safety Updates
Short, local and practical. What’s changing. What to watch for. What you can do. Created by girls in the language people actually speak.

ON THE GROUND
The strongest solutions come from those closest to the risk.
Risk Calendars
Girls track when risks rise, from school dropouts and unsafe routes to child marriage, migration and violence. This helps communities act before risks become crises.
