Sanghamitra is a research and evaluation leader with over 18 years of professional experience in the social and environmental sectors, including 15 years of research experience. She holds a Master's degree in Environmental Science. Her expertise lies in research, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (RMEL), impact assessment of development projects, and conducting complex social surveys. She has a strong foundation in mixed-method research and evaluation frameworks.

Sanghamitra has led several large-scale pan-India research studies and has extensively travelled to different parts of India. She has worked with central and state government agencies, multilateral and bilateral organisations, NGOs, academic institutions, and corporate entities. Her work covers diverse development sectors including child development, maternal and child health, adolescent and youth issues, education and skill development, and women's empowerment.

Prior to Aangan, she has worked with multinational research and consulting agencies, namely Kantar Public (formerly IMRB International), Nielsen, and Mott MacDonald. At Aangan, she spearheads sectoral and policy research and programmatic evaluations to build the organisation’s knowledge and learnings and strengthen its impact. She strives to aid Aangan in its mission to make child protection everyone's business and to facilitate Aangan’s position as a thought leader in that space.
