Rumana Hamied is the Managing Trustee of Cipla Foundation⁠—in the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Cipla, Ltd. Since 2014, Rumana has been strategically leading the Foundation’s growth through country-wide partnerships and innovative interventions, especially in the areas of palliative and respiratory care. Rumana serves on the board of the Cipla Palliative Care & Training Centre, Pune where she is deeply engaged with scaling palliative care programmes.

Rumana has had a long and diverse history of engagement with social causes. As a former film producer, she mainstreamed issues of gaps in access and affordability in healthcare through her internationally acclaimed documentary film, Fire in the Blood. In addition, she continues to be closely involved in mapping the family’s philanthropic commitment.
