The Vulnerable Child and the Climate Crisis, examines how the climate crisis is dismantling the very foundations of childhood: safety, care, schooling, and belonging. The report brings evidence and stories from the ground to reframe the climate discourse through the lens of child protection and justice.

Absent but Not Unseen Girl- Jharkhand Factsheet

It highlights how irregular attendance—often overlooked—signals early risk of dropout, especially among adolescent girls. In Jharkhand's Pakur, Dumka and Jamtara districts, Aangan’s School and Safety Program supported 353 School Safety Committees that brought together schools, community women, and girls to identify barriers and take joint action. Structured tracking and community-led efforts helped re-engage students and prevent child protection harms, calling for a shift from enrolment drives to sustained attendance monitoring.

Safety of Children: A Shared Responsibility - Our work in the past year was directed towards catalyzing change and taking pioneering steps towards bringing different stakeholders, such as communities, government systems and adjacent sector CSOs, together to prioritize the safety and protection of children.

Impact Report 2017-2018

In 240 villages and urban settlements across 20 hotspot districts of 6 states: Bihar, UQar Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Odisha; Aangan brought together 4450 women volunteers and 290 government officials to make communites safer for children.

Minor Issues in Major Cities

From Bhubaneswar to Patna, Varanasi, Bhopal and Mumbai, the urban slum is a dangerous place for a child to grow up in. This report documents the interwoven factors that contribute to child vulnerability in these cities and the key resources needed to reverse it.
