This study takes a deep dive into this agent of rehabilitation by looking at her roles and responsibilities, and understanding the challenges that she faces, with the objective of providing solutions to ensure that children in conflict with law get a real opportunity for change.

The J.J. Act advocates that children’s institutions must be child-friendly and have a rehabilitative environment. But implementation of such principles is still far from satisfactory. This study explores, defines and re-defines the entire concept of “child-friendly institutions” from both, the staff’s and mainly the child’s point of view, to provide solutions for improving the effectiveness of children’s institutions.
